Homepage of Rothay House

Rothay House

rothay-house.com ↗

Lakeland bed and breakfast on Rothay Road, Ambleside. Three en-suite rooms, breakfast, guest information, and a guest account: phone and email while online booking is off.

  • Hotel CMS
  • Rooms
  • Guest accounts
  • Enquire

Features

  • Three room pages with rates: two on the ground floor, one first-floor double
  • Breakfast, guest information, access statement, gallery and terms
  • Guest accounts and a booking engine that can be switched on
  • Enquire and click-to-call while online booking is closed
  • Parking, Wi-Fi, and Ambleside / Windermere / Langdale location copy

SEO

  • Canonical URLs and XML sitemap for rooms and destination pages
  • JSON-LD BedAndBreakfast with address, geo, phone and TripAdvisor
  • Local copy for Ambleside, Windermere, Langdale and Kirkstone Pass
  • Robots rules that keep /admin, checkout and accounts out of the index

Technical

  • White-label CMS on LiteSpeed (same family as the hotel booking demo)
  • Room inventory and guest accounts in the CMS, not a plugin
  • Booking can go live without a theme rebuild; enquire is the conversion today

Why this tech

A three-room B&B should not live on a Booking.com badge and a WordPress theme. The CMS owns rooms, rates and the public pages. Checkout is in the stack when they want it; until then the honest CTA is a named number.

Homepage of Seafarers

Seafarers

seafarersbowness.co.uk ↗

Fish and chips on Rayrigg Road, Bowness-on-Windermere. A takeaway site that has to show the lake, the board, the hours, and a phone number, then get people through the door.

  • Menu
  • Opening hours
  • Click-to-call
  • SEO dashboard

Features

  • Hero with the lake and the parcel: wrap it, walk to Windermere
  • Live open/closed state and daily hours on the homepage
  • Menu, downloadable price list, call and directions as first actions
  • Find-us copy for Rayrigg Road, Beatrix Potter, and the water
  • SEO dashboard in the admin: rankings and next steps without a retainer

SEO

  • Canonical URL, title and description aimed at Bowness fish and chips
  • Local place copy (Rayrigg Road, Windermere, Beatrix Potter)
  • Click-to-call and directions instead of a fake booking flow
  • Allergen and privacy pages as real pages, not an afterthought
  • SEO dashboard in the admin so the board is not a guess

Technical

  • Custom PHP site on LiteSpeed
  • Static-first pages, no WordPress admin
  • Phone and maps as the conversion, not a checkout

Why this tech

A chip shop does not need a CMS login for a board that changes by the day. Fast pages, honest hours, and a number that works on a wet pavement. Search is “fish and chips Bowness”, not a blog.

Homepage of FH Motorbody

FH Motorbody

fhmotorbody.co.uk ↗

Vehicle bodywork studio in Kendal. The public site has to show the finish, then get a quote: phone, WhatsApp, or the form. Behind that sits a full CRM with invoicing and expenses, so the workshop is not running the business in a spreadsheet.

  • Quote form
  • WhatsApp
  • CRM
  • Invoicing
  • Expenses
  • SEO dashboard

Features

  • Service pages for bodywork, paint, welding and mechanical
  • Project gallery with job write-ups (not a generic slider)
  • Quote request plus click-to-call and WhatsApp
  • Reviews on the page, not buried on a third-party widget
  • Full CRM for jobs and customers
  • Invoicing and expenses in the same system
  • SEO dashboard in the admin: rankings, technical checks, what to fix next

SEO

  • Canonical URL, meta title and description
  • JSON-LD for LocalBusiness, services and reviews
  • XML sitemap and Google Analytics
  • Location copy aimed at Kendal, Windermere, Ambleside and the Lakes
  • SEO dashboard in the admin

Technical

  • Custom PHP site on LiteSpeed
  • Public brochure plus a logged-in CRM (invoices and expenses)
  • WhatsApp deep links for how customers actually enquire

Why this tech

A body shop does not need WordPress. Fast pages and a clear quote path for the public; a real CRM, invoicing and expenses for the office. WhatsApp sits next to the form because that is how the work comes in.

Homepage of The Dog Mom

The Dog Mom

thedogmom.co.uk ↗

Dog walking and home visits around Bowness and Windermere. A brochure site the owner can update (walks, photos, reviews) without calling us for every caption.

  • WordPress
  • Gallery
  • Contact
  • Owner-editable

Features

  • Walks and home-visit service pages
  • Photo gallery (the product is the dogs)
  • Reviews page and social links
  • Get-in-touch form, phone and Messenger

SEO

  • WordPress XML sitemap
  • Page titles set; meta description is the next pass
  • Local coverage copy for south Lakes / Windermere
  • Credit and canonical pointing back to the live domain

Technical

  • WordPress 6.9 on LiteSpeed
  • Familiar editor so the owner can change copy and photos
  • Contact form rather than a booking calendar

Why this tech

WordPress is the right call when the client will actually edit. A custom CMS would be overkill for a small service site that lives on photos and availability-by-message, not checkout.

Homepage of BIG van STRONG man

BIG van STRONG man

bigvanstrongman.co.uk ↗

Two-man moving and delivery from Lancaster across the South Lakes and Europe. Instant estimate on the page; the booking still happens on the phone.

  • Quote calculator
  • Lead gen
  • FAQ schema
  • SEO dashboard

Features

  • Postcode-to-postcode estimate (ULEZ and tolls included in the guide)
  • Service split: home moves, offices, furniture, parcels
  • Fleet / team photos and coverage list
  • FAQ block for price, areas, Europe jobs
  • SEO dashboard in the admin

SEO

  • Canonical, sitemap, and five JSON-LD blocks (including FAQ)
  • Title and description aimed at Lancaster / Lakes removals
  • Guide price on-page; no fake “book now” checkout
  • SEO dashboard in the admin

Technical

  • Custom PHP on LiteSpeed
  • Client-side quote logic, then a phone CTA
  • FAQ markup for the questions people search

Why this tech

Removals quotes depend on stairs, access and Europe routes. A calculator qualifies the lead; card checkout would sell a price that cannot be honoured. Phone close, structured FAQ for search.

Homepage of Abbey Environmental

Abbey Environmental

abbeyes.co.uk ↗

Commercial and domestic pest control from Barrow-in-Furness. Service-led pages, a contact form, and a short wait-time pitch, not an online booking diary.

  • Contact form
  • Service pages
  • SEO dashboard

Features

  • Commercial contracts, bird control, prevention
  • Pest-by-pest method pages (fleas through woodworm)
  • Call Chris CTA plus a named contact form
  • Emergency / rapid-response messaging
  • SEO dashboard in the admin

SEO

  • Canonical to abbeyenvironmental.co.uk (primary brand domain)
  • Local service copy for Barrow, Dalton, Ulverston
  • No public XML sitemap yet: next crawl hygiene job
  • SEO dashboard in the admin

Technical

  • Custom PHP on LiteSpeed
  • Form-to-inbox, no customer accounts
  • Lightweight brochure, not a field-ops app

Why this tech

Pest jobs are call-outs and contracts, not self-serve slots. A fast brochure with a named number beats a booking plugin. Canonical keeps both domains pointing at one brand for search.

Homepage of Legendary Letters

Legendary Letters

legendaryletters.co.uk ↗

Personalised story letters for children, written with a clinical psychologist. A product site: pick a journey, personalise it, pay, post.

  • Ecommerce
  • Personalisation
  • SEO dashboard

Features

  • Catalogue by journey type (adventures, puzzles, big feelings)
  • Personalised name on the letter
  • Basket / checkout rather than “enquire for price”
  • Author story and reviews as trust, not decoration
  • SEO dashboard in the admin

SEO

  • JSON-LD for products and organisation
  • XML sitemap for the catalogue
  • Copy built around “personalised letters for children” queries
  • SEO dashboard in the admin

Technical

  • Custom storefront on LiteSpeed
  • Ecommerce flow for a small SKU set
  • No WordPress: catalogue is the product, not a blog

Why this tech

This is a shop, not a brochure. Checkout and personalisation belong in the stack; a booking system does not. Custom over WooCommerce to keep the story pages fast and the SKU set small and controlled.

Homepage of Found Phones

Found Phones

foundphones.com ↗

Our lost-phone recovery product. A QR on the lock screen opens a private page. Finders can call or message without ever seeing your number. Trusted contacts, optional reward, lock-screen wallpaper, from £1.99 a year.

  • SaaS
  • QR recovery
  • Privacy
  • PayPal

Features

  • Secure recovery page with Call / Message: numbers stay hidden
  • Trusted contacts if the owner cannot answer
  • Optional return reward, amount private until confirmed
  • Lock-screen wallpaper editor and printable labels
  • Free, Standard, Family and Business plans (up to 50 devices)
  • Web setup today; native iOS and Android apps in development

SEO

  • Canonical marketing site on foundphones.com
  • Copy aimed at lost-phone / QR recovery searches
  • Help, privacy and terms as real pages before someone needs them

Technical

  • Custom PHP product on LiteSpeed
  • PayPal on the web; Google Play billing in the Android app
  • QR that any camera phone can scan, no finder app required

Why this tech

Finders will not download an app to return a phone. A QR and a page they can tap is the whole product. Numbers stay off the page so a scan is not a gift to a stranger. Yearly plans because this is insurance, not a monthly habit.

Homepage of FSTVL

FSTVL

fstvl.co.uk ↗

Worldwide festival directory we own: dates, maps, reviews, guides. A content machine, not a brochure: hundreds of events that have to stay crawlable.

  • Directory CMS
  • Maps
  • Editorial
  • Large sitemap

Features

  • Festival listings with dates, place and genre
  • Maps, reviews and insider guides
  • Editorial news for planning and kit
  • Always-on updates rather than a seasonal microsite

SEO

  • Canonical URLs on listing and guide pages
  • Large XML sitemap (the catalogue is the SEO)
  • Structured listing pages built for “festival + city” queries

Technical

  • Custom directory CMS on LiteSpeed
  • Our editor, not WordPress post types
  • Maps and reviews as first-class fields

Why this tech

A theme cannot hold this many events without falling over. A purpose-built CMS keeps listings, maps and guides in one model, and the sitemap honest. That is how a directory earns search, year round.

Homepage of Lakes Directory

Lakes Directory

lakesdirectory.co.uk ↗

Lake District directory we run: towns, businesses, events and jobs. Free listings, so the barrier to a local page is a form, not an invoice.

  • Directory CMS
  • Free listings
  • Local SEO

Features

  • Town-by-town browse (Ambleside through Windermere)
  • Stay / eat / do / events / jobs filters
  • Free business, event and job listings
  • Curated “places locals love” strip

SEO

  • JSON-LD on directory pages
  • XML sitemap for towns and listings
  • UNESCO / Cumbria framing without stuffing every page

Technical

  • Same family of custom CMS as FSTVL, on LiteSpeed
  • Listing workflow instead of a page builder
  • No ecommerce: discovery first, contact the business

Why this tech

Directories die when every listing is a PDF. A CMS with a public submit form grows the graph; structured town pages are what Google actually ranks for “things to do in Keswick”.
